Email share

The Van Gogh immersion experience rolling into St. Louis this October is meant to be a unique event showering the viewers with a journey of over 300 iconic artworks from Van Gogh projected across multiple surfaces and heights. All flowing to the sounds of symphonic scores, and narratives of Van Gogh’s thoughts, and dreams.    This experience dazzles your sight and sounds fully engulfing you in his art and leaving with a new appreciation for his artistry.

St. Louis is taking the opportunity to add an additional layer of this immersion experience with your sense of taste and smell.   Starting on October 6th, Café La Vie inside Le Meridien Hotel in Clayton will be hosting Van Gogh immersive dinners with a prefixed menu all themed with inspiration of the artist’s hometown and works.   The three-course meal will include a starter “The Potato Eaters”, a loaded potato agnolotti with bacon lardon, white cheddar fondue, crispy potato skins and scallion. “The Lying Cow” entrée course is a beef short rib lying in the Tuscan kale risotto and finishing with a Starry Night chocolate torte.   The Café La Vie has also created four cocktails each unique in flavor and theme all with an homage to his life’s journey.  Cost for the three course prefix is $45 per person and reservations can be made on OpenTable.

Schlafly Beer has partnered with the Beyond Van Gogh experience to present a hazy orange IPA with scents of fresh citrus, and a slightly fruity and malty profiles with a finishing herbal undertones.   The Swirling Sky IPA can is even wrapped with the Starry Night painting to complete the effect.  The limited timed inspired beer is available at the three Schlafly locations.

The Beyond Van Gogh event began October 1st and will run until November 21st at the Galleria mall.
