In season 14, hosts Bridget Lancaster and Julia Collin Davison return along with test cooks Bryan Roof, Christie Morrison, Ashley Moore, Lawman Johnson, and Morgan Bolling. They cook regional specialties from across the U.S. (Texas Potato Pancakes,  the St Louis classic St. Paul Sandwich, Carne Guisada, and more) and tackle classic American fare and weeknight workhorses (Old-Fashioned Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken Scampi, Slow-Roasted Salmon, and more).

Baked into the recipe segments are stories and images from local restaurants and home cooks who have mastered their regional favorites. These local dishes are the inspiration for recipes such as Gobi Manchurian and Boogaloo Wonderland Sandwich, which the test cooks adapt for the home kitchen.

Jack Bishop shares his deep ingredient knowledge with viewers, including which leavening agents to use, tips for choosing the best store-bought broth, and a guide to cooking with herbs. Adam Ried reveals his top choices for equipment, including oven mitts, wooden spoons, and 12-inch nonstick skillets.

This season will also feature short documentary segments on the history of American food, presented by the new Cook’s Country Editor-in-Chief Toni Tipton-Martin. Toni will educate viewers on the origins and regional context of recipes like Mixed Berry Buckle and Green Goddess Roast Chicken, accompanied by archival photography and art.

Also, brand new this season are short recipes that highlight our favorite quick, easy, and DIY dishes like Strawberry Compote, Perfect Pesto, and Make-Ahead Hot Chocolate.

Season 14 makes its debut on Nine PBS in St. Louis on Saturday, September 18 at 1:30pm.  Check back with Chew In The Lou often for recipes and tips from Cook's Country throughout the season!
